Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolor Blocks are the highest quality watercolor paper from one of the world's most historically important art materials manufacturers. Now with a new and improved formula, but still made in Italy with 100% cotton, it's a welcome addition to the high-end watercolor paper options available to artists today.
Like other professional-grade European papers, Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolor Blocks are made at slow speeds in a traditional cylinder mold. This process is more expensive and laborious, but it provides a superior surface, with a more organic range of textures and better water handling.
All sizes and textures of Winsor Professional watercolor blocks are internally and externally sized, so they have an ideal level of absorbency, plus all the strength and stability you'd expect in a professional surface. They are, of course, made with completely acid-free and archival materials, so your work will not yellow or degrade over time.
We recommend using this paper with any watercolor, gouache, or ink, and you can also try it as a mixed media surface for finished work in watercolor pencil or watercolor marker.
This is the hot press Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolor Block, with a very lightly textured surface that's great for sharp lines and bold shapes. We also carry this paper in traditional cold press and extra-textured rough surface varieties.
Each block is glue-bound on all four sides for stability. Insert a palette knife into the unbound corner and gently move it around the binding to cut off a sheet once it's dry.
Generously sized at 20 sheets per block, which is considerably more than the typical 12 or 15 sheets you'd see in other blocks at this level of quality and price point.

For orders under $59, domestic shipping rates start at $4.50. You can calculate your shipping cost in the cart or at checkout. For St. Louis residents, we also offer free curbside pickup. Just select "Pick Up" on the first page of checkout.
If there's a problem with your order, please contact our customer service team at firstname.lastname@example.org. If your order is damaged or defective, we will send you a prepaid return label and replace the item immediately. If you change your mind about an order, you can ship it back to us in new condition for a refund or exchange. However, if there is no error on our part, we cannot refund shipping charges or pay for return shipping. The deadline for all returns is 30 days from the delivery date. All clearance items, dated calendars and planners, and grab bags are non-refundable.
