The Tornado is a twist-action rollerball pen with a cult following. There are many different Tornado designs, from demure to outrageous, but the core elements are the same across Retro51's entire rollerball lineup: all-metal construction, knurled twist-action ring at the back, and a strong metal clip on the side.
People love their Tornados for many reasons. The twist mechanism is really pleasant to use, and it's less likely to fail than the typical click-advance mechanism. Twisting the knurled ring on your Tornado is a nice little fidget activity when you aren't actively writing (and unlike a regular retractable pen, it's silent.)
Another great feature is the liquid-ink rollerball refills that Retro51 uses for Tornado pens. These reliable writers are very inky and smooth, moving quickly across all kinds of paper and never failing to deliver a bold line. And because it's compatible with common brands of refills, including Schmidt, the Tornado can be customized with a trip to your local pen shop.

How quickly will my order ship?
Our St. Louis warehouse team is pretty speedy! We generally ship orders within one business day of receiving them. You'll receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order's packed and out the door.
How long will it take to arrive?
We offer shipping estimates for each order at checkout. Please note that these are only our system's best guess — there are many factors that may affect shipping time.
Generally speaking, our parcels take about 2-3 business days to travel to most U.S. addresses once they are shipped.
In a hurry? We offer expedited shipping options, including overnight shipping, at checkout.

Do you accept returns?
Yes — we accept returns of unopened, undamaged items within 30 days of receipt.
