Hi-Uni GRCT is Mitsubishi's highest quality lead for mechanical pencils. Named for the famous Hi-Uni pencil, which has been Mitsubishi's pride and joy for many years, Hi-Uni GRCT lead aims to offer a truly premium pencil experience to mechanical pencil users for the first time.
What does "premium" mean in pencil lead? I'm glad you asked. Hi-Uni GRCT is darker, bolder, and more tactile than other leads. Other leads can feel squeaky or slick against the paper, but Hi-Uni GRCT feels like a sharpened pencil. And it makes very black marks, especially at the softer grades.
What does "GRCT" stand for, anyway? According to an old Mitsubishi Pencil television ad, it means "Graphite Reinforced Carbon Technology." These leads have a noticeably higher pigment content than competitors, which means there's less room in the mix for binding agents and stabilizers. To keep the lead strong with less filler, GRCT leads contain a precise mixture of carbon structures that reinforce one another. So it's extra-dark, but still tough and long-lasting.
Hi-Uni 0.5 mm leads come in packs of 40. Hi-Uni 0.3 mm leads come in packs of 20.

How quickly will my order ship?
Our St. Louis warehouse team is pretty speedy! We generally ship orders within one business day of receiving them. You'll receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order's packed and out the door.
