About This Product
Made in midcentury England, the E. S. Perry Osmiroid MR1 is a rarely seen vintage model that holds way more ink than a normal dip pen. A unique reservoir piece is clipped into the body of the nib, creating a large area behind the nib where ink can gather before it's channeled to the tip.
At the tip, you'll find a design that's only slightly less surprising—a very wide, upturned stub tip that can make big, flowing script or angular block printing. Because of the reservoir, you don't need to dip nearly as often as you'd expect for a pen of this width.
This pen is approximately 70-80 years old, but it's in perfect condition. We've inspected each one individually to ensure that it's ready to return to service on your desk.
As with any dip pen, you will need to remove the protective coating so that ink will stick to the nib consistently. To remove the coating, simply dip your new pen in ink a couple of times and wipe it off. Repeat until the ink coats the nib completely and doesn't bead up. This process takes about 15 seconds and only needs to be done once, before you use the pen for the first time.
