About This Product
This handsome set of palm-sized notebooks is made with Mitsubishi Bank Paper on the inside and supple, specially coated "Cordoba" paper in three colors for the cover. Bound with thread matching each cover and embossed with the Dressco peacock logo; presented in a blue-black slipcover with understated gold-foil accents.
It's a set that exhibits impressive craft and unusually serious attention to the materials involved in its production. That's because Takeo Paper, the company behind Dressco, is a leading paper distributor in Japan, with a portfolio that includes all the important makers of stationery paper in Japan, Europe, and the United States. So it's fitting that Dressco products pair excellent papers that may be known only to connoisseurs.
Body paper: Mitsubishi Bank Paper is one of the best-regarded writing stocks in the world, especially good with fountain pens but compatible with any writing instrument you prefer. With fountain pen ink, you'll notice that there is no feathering, no bleedthrough, and a quick drying time. Inks that sheen or shade are great matches for Bank Paper, which highlights those special qualities nicely. Watermarked with "Three Diamonds," the English translation of Mitsubishi.
Cover paper: Cordoba paper is a coated cover stock with a supple texture and the strength to be sewed through. It feels a bit like smooth leather. The covers in this set use Cordoba paper in three warm earth tones: dusty pink, soft tan, and chocolate brown.
Endpapers: Soft paper in contrasting colors lines the inside front and back of each notebook. The pink notebook has a burnt orange endpaper, the tan notebook has a blue endpaper, and the brown notebook has a black endpaper.
A6 Slim size, 147 x 85 mm (5.8" x 3.3"). Made in Japan.
