This heavyweight mixed media pad from Winsor & Newton is an excellent, inexpensive choice for drawing and painting in a variety of media. Featuring a lightly textured, non-absorbent surface and made from entirely archival-quality materials, the Winsor & Newton Mixed Media Pad offers artist-grade performance at a price that allows you to sketch freely.

We especially like this pad for water-soluble dry media, like the Pentel pastel set shown in our example photos. Watercolor pencils, watercolor markers, and water-soluble graphite will all work perfectly here. There's enough texture to grab the dry media, but enough strength and paper sizing for wet brushes and inks.
