About This Product

Calligraphers, cartoonists, and illustrators swear by the G Nib, a type of flexible and ultrafine nib offered under several Japanese brand names. These pens are uniquely useful for precise work because they offer super-thin hairlines while also allowing the artist to press harder and make big swells and droplet-shaped marks.

Tachikawa G Pens are somewhat stiffer than the other major brands, so they are an excellent choice for those who press a bit harder on their pens. Often, this includes beginners in calligraphy and drawing, who may not have developed the hand control needed for a softer nib like the Nikko G Pen, also manufactured by Tachikawa.

We offer the Tachikawa G Pen Nib in a set of 10, with a reusable plastic case and a small sheet of anti-rust paper to protect your nibs. It's nice to have replacements ready, because after metal nibs are used for a while, they lose some of their tensile strength and become less precise. You can tell it's time for a new nib when you can clearly see daylight between the tines.

Compatible with all standard pen holders, including Tachikawa's popular T-25, T-36, and T-40 pen holders.

Made in Japan.
