This unusual pencil from Tombow has an extremely large, soft graphite core. In Japan, it's used to practice calligraphic strokes because it can create thin-to-thick lines reminiscent of those made by brushes. It's also very useful for drawing and sketching because the lead is so smooth and dark. The marks are large and satisfying, and you can be more expressive than with a harder, narrower pencil. It's coated in a thick layer of blue lacquer and the back is dipped in bright red. The KM-KKS sharpens very cleanly, with a perfectly centered core that allows for a very long point. 6B hardness. Sold individually.
