About This Product
Made between 1967 and 1973, these vintage American pencils were manufactured by the Venus-Esterbrook Company (formed by a mid-60s merger between prominent office-supply companies.) We know the rough date of manufacture because the company was only called Venus-Esterbrook for a few years until its sale to FaberCastell USA and the eventual demise of most of its products.
The Semester 328 pencil, as its name suggests, was meant for students. It's extra wide and extra dark, with a lead that feels like a 2B. Made from high-quality cedar, with consistent build quality across the whole case we have in our warehouse, the Semester is a great example of a bygone age of American pencil manufacturing. It works just as well today as it did when it was originally made.
Use the larger hole of any standard two-hole sharpener, or a dedicated sharpener for wide-diameter pencils, to sharpen your vintage Venus Semester. It won't fit into a sharpener designed only for regular writing pencils.
Limited stock. Appearance may vary slightly, since these pencils are 50 years old, but they are in excellent condition.
