For artists who prefer to make their own paint, Schmincke Ready-To-Use Mediums are a quicker and more reliable option than experimenting with different binders and chemicals on your own.
Ready-To-Use Watercolor Medium provides the right ratio of gum arabic (the binder used in virtually all watercolor) and ox gall (a wetting agent that improves flow and helps to disperse pigment.) Just add one part pigment to two parts Ready-To-Use Medium to make watercolor paint. Use a muller or a mortar and pestle to improve the dispersion.
