But behind the low price tag, there's a very high-quality paper, made by one of the truly historic paper mills of Europe. Fabriano manufactures this low-cost paper in eastern Italy, with skilled workers, quality ingredients, and a commitment to sustainability. (This paper is vegan, FSC-certified, and made with hydropower.)

The paper itself is a balanced, durable surface for watercolor, ink, mixed media, pen and pencil. The textured cold press surface is ideal for natural subjects, like landscapes, portraits, and botanical paintings. Made with 25% cotton rag, for a soft but smooth surface that accepts both paint and pen with equal ease.

This cut-sheet pack contains 100 sheets of the ninety-pound cold press version of Fabriano Studio. A bit lighter weight than the standard pads, these sheets are excellent for mixed media applications. The bulk pack is great for classrooms, prolific sketchers, and artists making lots of quick pieces for retail sale. We also recommend this pack as a starting point for bookbinding—once you're finished folding and sewing, you'll have a sketchbook that works with all media.
