About This Product
This handsome beechwood pochade box is a perfect travel companion for any painter — oil, acrylic, or watercolor. MABEF is known for fine easels, and this sketchbox has the same excellent build quality as their top-of-the-line studio easels. It's assembled from continuous pieces of solid beech, with finger joints at the corners and elegantly eased edges all around. A genuine leather strap and brass hardware complete the exterior design.
Inside the box, an oiled wood palette is provided; this is a great choice for oil and acrylic painters. For watercolorists, the palette can be used as a backing board for sheet paper. Under the palette, you'll find tin-lined storage space with spring-loaded, adjustable dividers. We were able to fit dozens of tubes of paint, plus brushes and accessories, in this compact box.
Finally, the underside of the lid has spring-loaded supports for a canvas, paper block, or other painting surface. The supports can be moved from side to side to accommodate a range of panel sizes. (We tested it with an 8" x 10" panel, which fits nicely.)
