The Montval Field Book is an easily portable, 7" x 10" watercolor notebook with stiff front and back covers for stability in the field. The double wire ring binding is very strong, allowing the Field Book to travel in backpacks and suitcases without damaging the artwork inside. When you flip the front cover around to the back, the Field Book is stiff enough to use without a table, so it's excellent for urban sketching and nature painting.
This notebook contains 20 pages of Canson Montval, one of the best-known watercolor paper options in the world. It's a strong, versatile 140# paper, made in France in a natural white color and an attractive cold press finish. It's suitable for all watercolor techniques, including lifting, scrubbing, and repeated washes. Montval boasts excellent erasability compared with softer watercolor paper, and it is completely acid-free and archival.
