Fabriano's Heavyweight Mixed Media Pad has a thickness rivaling many watercolor papers, weighing in at 250 gsm (135#). But it's so much more versatile! In addition to watercolor and gouache, this phenomenal paper can handle pigment pens, dip pens, pencils, colored pencils, fountain pens, water-soluble pastels and pencils, and pretty much any other wet or dry media you can think of.
In our tests, there was no bleedthrough or feathering with any of the inks we tried, from fountain pen ink to liquid watercolor. The paper held up very well to a range of watercolor techniques, and colors appeared nice and bright after drying. The sized surface allows wet media to flow easily across the page, and the heavy weight ensures there won't be much warping or rippling.
Fabriano Mixed Media is acid-free, and it's ISO 9706 certified for archival performance. It's made from FSC-certified paper from sustainable sources.
