About This Product
Furoshiki are patterned cloths, commonly used in Japan to wrap lunchboxes, bottles, and other everyday items. They are a lovely reusable alternative to gift wrap and disposable bags, and when you have a few around the house, you'll find many uses for them. You'll notice our furoshiki in many of our studio photos, because we're always using them to rest our painting water cups, dry out our palettes, and cushion hard objects on our glass table.
We are pleased to offer Japanese-made furoshiki from Miyamoto Co., a textile firm operating in Osaka since 1949. These cloths have a beautiful, fine weave made from 100% cotton. They are soft to the touch, but smooth and pleasantly heavy so that they fold and tie neatly.
Please consult the folding instructions in our photos to get an idea of all the different things you can wrap with your furoshiki. We suggest wrapping a couple of things using the instructions, so you can learn some basic techniques that will help you make your own special folds.
This small furoshiki measures 50 cm (20") square. It's the right size to wrap a fountain pen box or a small set of watercolors.
