About This Product
Rich, dark sepia is a staple in any drawing toolkit. Rendering a landscape in sepia pastel or crayon is a wonderful way of grasping its highlights and shadows and honing your ability to communicate the full range of values in a subject. This kind of loose, one-color sketching is particularly useful when planning finished work in dry or wet media.
These dark sepia leads, designed to fit any 5.6 mm lead holder, have an oil-based formula for smooth application and less dust than chalk pastels. They sharpen smoothly with a standard pencil sharpener and can be partially erased (with some ghosting) with a gum eraser.
A lidded plastic box is included for storage and transport. Please note that these sepia leads are quite soft and may break inside the case. When using a lead holder, this isn't a major issue, because the clutch can easily hold short pieces.
