With most high-end brushes, the handle is an afterthought. The Isabey Vintage line of fine watercolor brushes combines a hand-shaped, premium brush with a gorgeous tapered wood handle, an elongated brass ferrule, and a loop attached to the back for hanging your brush to dry.
In our studio tests, we really appreciated the unique shape and above-average weight of Isabey Vintage brushes. Even the smaller sizes come with substantial handles, which makes it feel that the brush is resting safely in your hand—thus allowing you to loosen your grip and improve your brush control.
This is the Isabey Vintage Series 6701𝑖, featuring Petit Gris Pur tips, made with natural grey squirrel hair. The natural wavy texture of squirrel has always made it a premier choice for watercolorists, because it offers unsurpassed water capacity and softness.
6701𝑖 Tracers combine a round squirrel brush with a narrow inner liner made from sable, and the two different fibers are elegantly hand-shaped to form a single tapered tip when wet. The advantage of a tracer is that it combines the squirrel's absorbency with the sable's precision, allowing you to make much longer continuous marks than with an ordinary sable liner.

How quickly will my order ship?
Our St. Louis warehouse team is pretty speedy! We generally ship orders within one business day of receiving them. You'll receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order's packed and out the door.
How long will it take to arrive?
We offer shipping estimates for each order at checkout. Please note that these are only our system's best guess — there are many factors that may affect shipping time.
Generally speaking, our parcels take about 2-3 business days to travel to most U.S. addresses once they are shipped.

Do you accept returns?
Yes — we accept returns of unopened, undamaged items within 30 days of receipt.
