Japan's Platinum Pen and Kuretake use the same type of cartridge: tapered in shape, with an above-average capacity and a distinctive ball bearing closure. All Platinum fountain pens and Kuretake cartridge brush pens are compatible with the ink cartridges and converters in this collection.
To install a Platinum format ink cartridge, push the ball bearing end into the pen's feed until you feel the bearing dislodge. This type of cartridge requires more pressure than others during reloading, and you'll notice that the cartridge goes deeper into the pen than other formats. This is all for a reason—Platinum format cartridges fit very snugly and are practically leakproof as a result.
