Water-Soluble Sketching Pencils

Water-soluble graphite is a key tool for mixed media artists—it allows quick sketching and subtle gradients from pale grey to black, all with just a pencil and brush. Derwent Water-Soluble Sketching Pencils are an excellent option for this type of quick, dynamic mixed media work, with a soft core and outstanding workability. In our tests, we were consistently able to lift the entire line contour with water, leaving no unwanted marks behind.

Available in three grades: Light Wash HB, Medium Wash 4B, and Dark Wash 8B. The main difference between the grades is softness, not graphite content. Sold individually. Made in England.
