.002" Brass Shims, 3" x 1.5" (Pack of 2)

An essential item in the fountain pen enthusiast's toolbox, these super-thin sheets of brass shim stock are the best way to "floss" your pen nibs, removing fibers and gunk without damaging the pen. Brass is softer than steel and gold, the two most common materials used for pen nibs, so a brass shim won't change the nib's shape.

Keep in mind that brass is capable of cutting into plastic, so be careful not to gouge your pen's plastic feed with these shims. Some pen users intentionally modify their feeds with shims (for example, by using the sharp corner of a shim to enlarge the slit on top of the feed), but that's an advanced and irreversible technique.
