Akademie Gouache, CMYK Set

Schmincke Akademie Gouache is a sketching and color study medium for artists, art students, and hobbyists. Despite its affordable price, Akademie is a great gouache, with high opacity, good pigment load, and smooth matte finish. Professionals and serious artists doing finished work in gouache should use Schmincke Horadam Gouache instead, but for sketches, practice, and college classes, we think Akademie is a fantastic choice.

This starter set comes with five 20 mL tubes of Akademie Gouache in primary cyan, primary magenta, primary yellow, black, and white. With these five colors, you can mix any color with the powerful CMYK mixing system. It's especially important for designers and illustrators to learn the CMYK system, since it is used almost universally in today's commercial art. In comparison with red-yellow-blue mixing, CMYK produces higher-chroma (more intense) colors and can reach more points on the color wheel.

Just like Schmincke's professional-grade products, Akademie Gouache is 100% made in Germany. Every color is opaque, with a matte finish and excellent lightfastness. It's rewettable when dry, so you can reactivate dry gouache in your palette or modify dry layers of paintings.

We ship all orders from our store in St. Louis, Missouri. 95% of orders are processed in 1-2 business days. Shipping to the United States is always free for orders over $59. For orders under $59, domestic shipping rates start at $4.50. You can calculate your shipping cost in the cart or at checkout. For St. Louis residents, we also offer free curbside pickup. Just select "Pick Up" on the first page of checkout.

RETURNS

If there's a problem with your order, please contact our customer service team at hello@stlartsupply.com. If your order is damaged or defective, we will send you a prepaid return label and replace the item immediately. If you change your mind about an order, you can ship it back to us in new condition for a refund or exchange. However, if there is no error on our part, we cannot refund shipping charges or pay for return shipping. The deadline for all returns is 30 days from the delivery date. All clearance items, dated calendars and planners, and grab bags are non-refundable.
