Roy Lichtenstein in His Studio is a portfolio of vivid and engaging photographs by Laurie Lambrecht, who was a studio assistant for about two years. Lambrecht and Lichtenstein worked together daily, and the bond between them is quite evident in the photographs. During this period, they were gathering material for a retrospective, so the photographs include scrapbooks, sketchbooks, and other archival material. At the same time, the artist is shown working on his last major series, "The Interiors."
The dust jacket features an optical illusion that Lichtenstein himself would have appreciated, and inside, the hard cover is printed with the enlarged halftone dot patterns that are so closely identified with Lichtenstein's work.
