This special set of 8 PRIMAcryl colors — available for a limited time only — was selected by Schmincke ambassador and noted painter Fabian Utta. Included in this weighty box are Titanium White, Cadmium Yellow Medium Hue, Cadmium Orange Hue, Pyrrole Red Dark, Magenta, Royal Blue, Phthalo Turquoise, and Indigo. All are in full-sized, 60 mL tubes.

We love Utta's color selection because it's very high-chroma and evenly spaced across the color wheel. That makes it perfect for color mixing (but you can also paint with this stuff right out of the tube!)

Why is the PRIMAcryl polymer so special? Two big reasons that will make you want to try this paint right away — first, the acrylic binder is clear, not milky-white like other acrylics. That means brighter colors and clearer mixtures. Second, there is virtually no color shift when drying, so you'll never be surprised or disappointed after your work is finished.

PRIMAcryl's distinctively creamy texture is another notable advantage. This is the heavy-body version of PRIMAcryl, with the capacity to build up texture when applied in thick layers. But unlike some heavy-body acrylics, PRIMAcryl isn't sticky or pasty. You can apply the full color right from the tube, without losing any chroma in dilution. 

It's also nice to know that PRIMAcryl polymer is more sustainable than other acrylics. Rather than extracting the acrylic polymer from mineral oil (the 'petroleum process' of acrylic manufacturing), Schmincke uses a polymer that's made almost entirely from 'end-of-life' plastics, like old car tires, and plant-based byproducts of other industry. Only a minimal amount of carbon dioxide is produced in the process. The resulting binder is also free of microplastics.

In the newly reinvigorated PRIMAcryl line, you'll find 90 colors, including 60 single-pigment formulas, 89 vegan colors (only ivory black has an animal ingredient), and the brightest, most opaque titanium white in the world.

All 90 colors have four- or five-star lightfastness ratings, meaning that the colors will not fade for 100+ years under gallery conditions.
