About This Product
This essential tin contains twelve Kitaboshi #9900 drawing pencils, made with premium incense cedar and a smooth, consistent graphite core. The #9900 is a mainstay in Kitaboshi's pencil lineup, but we especially like this set because of its natural wood finish and black endcaps with the pencil's grade printed in white.
Grades 6B (very soft and dark) to 4H (very hard and pale) are included, so you can do anything from technical drawing to loose sketching with this set. Try the B grade first for bold, confident marks and a sharp point.
Packaged in a hinged metal tin. Made in Japan.
About Kitaboshi Pencil Co., Ltd.:
Manufacturing pencils in Tokyo since 1951, Kitaboshi is a fifth-generation company that celebrates the "charm and potential" of traditional wood-cased pencils.
Kitaboshi traces its roots to an early 20th century lumber processing company, which was the first supplier of domestically manufactured pencil slats. The family turned to manufacturing finished pencils during the midcentury boom in Japanese pencil production, and Kitaboshi Pencil has been making high-quality pencils ever since.
