About This Product

From the Schmincke Vault

Our friends at Schmincke sometimes offer us the last of a one-off production run: perhaps it's something that came in a box that's no longer available, or a special color from a past limited-edition set. These items aren't part of the regular Schmincke catalog, so you won't be able to get them again later.

For this Autumn 2023 Schmincke Vault release, we have a random three-pack of pearlescent colors from the world-famous Schmincke Horadam watercolor line. These unique, highly reflective colors were made a few years ago for a large limited-edition pearlescent set.

We're offering these pro-quality paints for more than 50% off their list price! That makes this an excellent opportunity to add them to your palette—so long as you're okay with letting serendipity choose your colors.

The possible colors in the Pearlescents pack are quite numerous: in the packs we've examined, we've spotted Rose Gold, Light Gold, Magenta Pearl, Green Pearl Bluish, Brown Pearl Reddish, Ochre Pearl, Red Gold, Red Pearl, Yellow Pearl, Violet Pearl, Green Pearl, and Yellow Light Pearl. Each three-pack is guaranteed to contain three different colors. If you purchase multiple three-packs, you may receive duplicate colors.

Made in Germany.

About Schmincke Horadam Watercolors:

Schmincke Horadam watercolors are among the world's finest professional-grade colors. First patented in 1892 by Schmincke co-founder Josef Horadam and continuously improved over more than a century of effort, Horadam watercolors are vibrant, smooth, and easy to apply to any kind of watercolor paper. Only the best artist pigments are used for the 140 colors that make up today's Horadam lineup. They're milled until the paint becomes creamy and utterly consistent, and each color shines in its pan when water is applied.

Even the process of filling Horadam pans is special. Each pan is liquid-filled from the same watercolor that's in Horadam tubes, then allowed to dry four times in a process that takes several weeks from start to finish. The result is an incredibly concentrated dry pan that reactivates instantly when you touch it with a wet brush. Scrub a little bit and you'll have intense color, ready to apply to your notebook or pad.
