For watercolorists in hot climates, where water evaporates more quickly, this issue is especially significant.
Winsor & Newton Watercolor Blending Medium solves this problem by thickening the diluted watercolor and decreasing its speed of evaporation. In our testing, we found that it offered much more complete blending than simply scrubbing with water. Blending medium also adds gloss and a bit more paint body.
